Pyrolysis oil is generally not directly used in cars.

Pyrolysis oil is produced through the pyrolysis process. After thermal pyrolysis, the waste tires, plastic waste, oily sludge, etc will produce pyrolysis oil. Its composition is relatively complex and contains many unsaturated hydrocarbons, including olefins. High aromatic content will reduce the quality of the oil, resulting in incomplete combustion of the fuel and the emission of exhaust gas containing more tiny particles. These substances affect the combustion efficiency of pyrolysis oil in the engine and pollute the environment. Automobile engines have certain requirements for cleanliness, chemical stability, and octane number of fuel. If pyrolysis oil is directly used in cars, it may affect the performance of the engine.

However, since the calorific value of pyrolysis oil is high, it can be used as industrial fuel to provide combustion heating for steel factories, glass factories, cement plants, ceramic factories, etc. Pyrolysis oil needs to undergo a series of further processing treatments to remove impurities, improve chemical stability, and convert into clean,bright-colored non-standard diesel. This oil is widely used in diesel generators, heavy machinery, agricultural machinery, and other fields.
